5 habits of millionaires that helped them get rich

Our habits on a subconscious level determine who we can become in the future. American scientists have studied the habits of millionaires, and came to very interesting conclusions. It turns out that almost every millionaire attributes his success in life to the habits he acquired in his family or from a mentor. Scientists have concluded that the secret to success is our daily habits. We share some of them below.

They have multiple sources of income

Successful people always create multiple sources of income. As the study showed, most often at least three. Diversification of income sources allows you to stay afloat and reduce sensitivity to external economic circumstances. Such situations are not as painful for rich people as they are for poor people; when a poor man dips "one rod into one lake," he immediately risks being put under financial disadvantage if that source begins to temporarily bring in a small amount of money. Rich people, on the other hand, have "a few rods in several lakes" and therefore have the opportunity to receive a stable income despite the fact that one of their sources temporarily brings little profit. Additional income can be brought by: renting out real estate, mortgage investment trust, investing in shares, partial ownership of companies, financing investments, patents, etc.

Dream - Goal - Realization

First we dream - then we materialize the dream through the correct setting of goals. A clear understanding and designation of your dreams is very important in order to become successful. 64% of the millionaires in the study claimed to be following one life dream. To determine your life goal, follow a simple algorithm:
  • In 400 words or less, describe how and where you would like to see yourself in 10, 15 or even 25 years. After all, the key to success is in the details. Write what kind of profit you would like to receive, what house you would like to live in, what car you will have, how much money you will save, how many businesses you will open, etc.
  • Based on the list in point 1, write a list of the things that best describe your ideal life. Profits, real estate, cars, etc. are your main desires. After that, start formulating your life goals. 55% of millionaires surveyed set goals based on dreams and desires. When setting goals, consider each item on your list of desires and dreams.
In order to correctly formulate goals, ask yourself two questions:
  • What do I need to participate in to make my dream come true? What exactly needs to be done for this?
  • Will I be able to do this? Do I have the necessary skills and competencies?
If you answered yes to question number 2, the new activity will be in tune with your desires. Remember: goals become goals only when you have all the necessary skills to bring them to life! What we got as a result:
  1. Describe your dream lifestyle in 400 words.
  2. List every desire and dream that you will have to realize in order to achieve your ideal life.
  3. Formulate goals based on dreams and desires.
  4. Take action. Make your dreams and desires come true, work hard to achieve what you want!
Achieve your goals and the life you dream of will become a reality.

Millionaires never waste their time

Most people associate risks with financial investments. At the same time, they can be completely different - from investing in a new enterprise to lending a certain amount of money to a friend or colleague. Interestingly, financial risks are not the most important thing for rich and successful people. After all, you can always make money. There is, however, one risk that nearly all millionaires agree on. Rich people understand that when faced with him, nothing can be returned. What is this risk, you ask? The biggest risk we all take is time. Time can never be turned back, and the time of bad decisions or bad investments is a huge step back. We often feel like we have more than enough time. Often we do not value time at all. That is why we spend a lot of time on habits that do not bring us any benefit: watching TV, social networks, just lying on the couch, going to restaurants, etc. However, remember: once we have wasted time, it will never be returned. Never. We value time until we grow old and begin to realize that our time is up. Think about it before you get old. Better invest your time in chasing your dreams and life goals. From any investment in due time we receive income: pleasure or financial stability or simply the opportunity to help other people. All these "incomes" are very valuable. Once you understand this, you will begin to plan your "resources" more thoughtfully and will try to avoid stupid investments that will not bring anything in return. 68% of the rich and successful spend less than 40 minutes a day watching TV; 61% spend less than one hour a day on the Internet in order to relax. This behavior allows you to free up more resources for further investment in your life goals.

They have at least one successful mentor

The average net worth of the 230 people surveyed is $4.1 million. 92% of millionaires in whose life there was a mentor attribute their success and well-being to his presence; 65% admitted that the guidance received was the main factor for success. Mentors do much more than just positively influence our lives. They regularly contribute to our success by advising on what to do and what not to do. They share their life experiences, their mistakes. A mentor will allow you to achieve success with a minimum number of mistakes, which will help you achieve success much faster, avoiding painful lessons - failures.

Types of mentors:
  1. Parents. It is very important to perceive parents as mentors in our lives. A good upbringing is an important aspect in life, because it allows not only to overcome life's difficulties, but also to avoid a lot of mistakes. Most often, parents pass on the knowledge gained over the years and good habits that help to be successful. If parents do not engage in proper education, then, most likely, children will experience difficulties in trying to succeed.
  2. Teachers. Good teachers are also good mentors. Most often, teachers reinforce home education or, if there is no such education at home, they become our mentors.
  3. Colleagues. If you were not lucky enough to receive proper education and guidance at home or at school, do not despair. Try to find a mentor at work. Find a person who will seem to you a worthy example, from whom you can learn experience and knowledge. Always look at people who are above you in position.
  4. Books. Most often written by smart people and in fact can become excellent mentors for you. Read more books with stories about success, self-control, finances and you are more likely to get experience from successful people. In this study, 57% of successful people read biographies of successful people. Read more!
  5. Life. You can also become a mentor to yourself. Moving on the way to your goal, you will fall and get up from your knees many times. This is an invaluable experience that our life can give us, so we must always learn from our mistakes. To learn to understand what works and what doesn't. Most often, such mentoring is the strongest impetus to success. Since the road to success is filled with very strong emotions and experiences, you will never forget about them.

Successful people follow their dreams to the end

The rich and successful are constant in their goals. They never give up on their dreams and desires. Desire and goals become the meaning of life for successful people. That is why they give all the best and never give up. 28% of people in the study failed at least once, but did not give up and found the strength to rise and continue working to achieve their goal. Consistency requires perseverance in achieving a life goal or dream. Persistence will never let you go the distance. No mistake or obstacle can affect your dream and knock you off course to success. Perseverance allows you to adapt to change and grow in the process. Constant experimentation with what works and what doesn't allows you to find the right path to achieve your desired goal. Those who are persistent, sooner or later become successful. Naturally, there will be many pitfalls on the way to success, but perseverance gives invaluable experience that will help you overcome all obstacles. Often, those closest to us give us great support in striving to achieve success, but as soon as we start to face difficulties, our loved ones try to stop us in this impulse. It must be remembered that the achievement of any big goal is a crushingly difficult task! Perseverance, the ability to convince loved ones and never give up are the hallmarks of successful people. Remember - successful people always achieve their goals. Our habits on a subconscious level determine who we can become in the future. We must remember that our habits can always be changed. Always take control of your life and never stop learning! This is the only way you can achieve the desired success. On average, it takes a person 21 days to replace an old habit with a new one. Starting to change, you will notice how your life will also begin to change for the better, and your life goals and dreams will approach.
