Tulup-zurna is a type of bagpipe traditional for the indigenous peoples of Ukraine: the Crimean Tatars and the Greeks of the Azov region. Like other bagpipes, it consists of bellows (this instrument is made of goat or lamb skin), a tube for pumping air and a tube with holes (kaval pipe) on which the melody was played. Such a pipe had from 6 to 10 holes.
The name "tulup-zurna" is formed from the words denoting a leather bag (Crimean tulup) and surma (Crimean zurna).
The tool gained the greatest popularity among Crimean Tatar shepherds.
