Glory to Ukraine! From the early childhood children are frightened by different things to encourage them to be polite. We will tell about one of them — Belarusian Lizun.
Belarusian mythological tale about Lizun is common on the North-Eastern land of Vitebsk region and nearby russian Pskov region. He is depicted like white scarecrow, with height of a finger, with long tongue like a grater capable of licking a naughty child to blood. He lives in well or garden and it is a warning for a child not to drown in the well or lost in the garden.
